We're excited to share that construction of our public safety campus remodel and expansion is set to begin later this spring. While work is underway, our police, fire, and emergency medical services teams will temporarily relocate, but residents can continue to count on the same reliable, highquality service. For emergencies, always call 911 for police, fire, and medical assistance. For non-emergency needs, call Washington County Dispatch and they'll connect you with an officer or a firefighter. Starting Thursday, April 30th, brush burn permits and other in-person public safety services will be available at city hall. Fire and EMS crews will operate out of the city's three other fire stations on Upper Road, Fames Road, and Fox Run Road. Additional public safety staff will temporarily work from the former Washington County License Center building located just south of the current public safety facility on Radio Drive. This temporary location will not be open to the public. No matter where they're based, our first responders remain committed to keeping the community safe and responding quickly when needed. This project is partially funded by the voterapproved halfsent sales tax that began in April 2025. The tax will continue for 20 years or until it reaches $50 million, whichever comes first. Collections are currently ahead of schedule. Construction bids are also within the project's $61 million budget. This project is primarily funded through the voter-approved sales tax, supplemented by grants and rebates, and requires no tax levy supported debt to be issued. The upgraded public safety campus is expected to be completed by mid 2028. Public safety continues to be a top priority for our growing community. We strive to deliver excellent service, community engagement opportunities and programs and continue to provide a safe community for everyone to live, work, and play. The public safety campus expansion and remodel will build upon this commitment to our residents and visitors by providing additional safer spaces for personnel and equipment and enhanced services to the community. Thank you to all of our residents who voted for our local option sales tax referendum in 2024. And thank you for the continued support of our public safety personnel and services. We'll keep you updated throughout the project at woodburym.gov/invest. /invest in safety.
